About Me
Hello, my name is Jasmine (she/her) and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and a Registered Nurse (RN) working in Vancouver, Burnaby, and Coquitlam, British Columbia.
My Credentials
Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology
Practicing member of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC, RCC ID# 25123)
Practicing Registered Nurse (RN) with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology
My passion in mental health started with my career as a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in mental health. For nearly a decade, I have worked in diverse healthcare settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, outreach programs, and community services. Throughout my experience, I have supported individuals facing a wide range of mental health challenges, including mood disorders (e.g., depression, bipolar disorder), anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders (e.g., schizophrenia), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), personality disorders (e.g., borderline personality disorder), trauma, stress, low self-esteem, body image concerns, relationship and family conflicts, substance use/addiction, and grief.
My transition to counselling was fueled by my desire to help in a different way—by offering a deeper, more holistic approach to healing. While I am able to provide nursing care in a clinical setting, I felt a strong calling to go beyond crisis stabilization and pharmacological interventions. I wanted to not only help manage symptoms but also explore and address the deeper emotional and psychological factors contributing to people’s struggles. Counselling allows me to engage with individuals on a more meaningful and therapeutic level—fostering resilience, self-discovery, and lasting transformation.
As a Chinese-Canadian therapist, I have a deep understanding of multicultural issues and the complexities of identity, belonging, and cultural adaptation. My personal and professional experiences provide me with an insight into the unique challenges faced by first-generation immigrants and their families, including navigating intergenerational differences, acculturation stress, and the pressure of balancing their heritage culture and host culture. I am particularly attuned to how cultural identity shapes mental health and relationships, and I strive to provide a culturally responsive and inclusive space for clients of all backgrounds.
My Background

Outside of work, I love travelling, painting, jogging, trying new foods, playing board games, collecting Lego, and caring for my plants. I’m also passionate about skincare and makeup and have been a beauty blogger and content creator for over a decade.
